Why the Work at Height Regulations?
- These regulations are law. They’re designed to prevent injuries and deaths, by establishing minimum requirements for work at height.
- The 2005 Regulations have also drawn together a number of existing regulations. It makes the picture simpler - but it does need explaining!
Do the rules apply to us?
- Yes.
- The Working at Height Regulations 2005 apply to everyone involved in working at any height, where there is a risk of a fall which could cause personal injury.
- That includes employers, employees and the self-employed.
Why do we have to follow the regulations?
- First, because it’s the law.
- Secondly, it could save your life.
- Thirdly, it’s a matter of good working practice that all managers and work forces should be thinking about.
